Fixed inductors, otherwise known as inductors or reactance coils, are electronic components consisting of a coil of insulated wire wound around a core. Working Principle

The S1210-101G fixed inductor works on the principle of Faraday’s Law of inductions. This law states that an electric current passing through a wire induces a varying magnetic field in the surrounding space. This in turn induces an electromagnetic force, or (EMF) which acts against the current flow. This is known as inductance, and it provides resistance to the current in the form of an impedance. The amount of impedance created by the S1210-101G inductor is proportional to its inductance, which can be selected from the range of available values as mentioned above.

The inductor also utilizes a self-heating mechanism. This means that the wires of the inductor generate heat energy which is dissipated to the surrounding air. This process helps to regulate the current and to maintain a uniform voltage. The efficiency of the S1210-101G is rated at up to 96%, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
