This series of rectangular connectors are classified as shielded and is available in several different versions. The main difference between them is in the number of signal contacts either included in the housing or to be placed in the mating socket. This series of connectors contain a total of 8 contacts. It has an insulation displacement contact (IDC) interface method, meaning that its signal contacts are not soldered, only the IDC sockets are pressed into the socket contact. In addition, it also has a single polarizing slot that ensures that the up and down direction of the contact in the housing cannot be reversed and are correctly and easily assembled. The pitch of this series is 5.08mm.

Working Principle

The working principle of the 0010845091 series is fairly easy to understand. It is composed of insulated housing, with contacts that are inserted in the housing and soldered to the PCB. The contacts are divided into two parts, a positive and a negative, and are polarized so that the contacts can only be inserted in the correct orientation in the housing. An IDC socket contacts the insert contacts and thus, when the wiring is complete, the contact is connected to the PCB. This is how the contacts are connected to the device and then used to pass signals.

The 0010845091 series is primarily used in automotive, audio visual, telecommunications, industrial and consumer electronics applications.
