Rectangular Connectors – Headers, Male PinsThe 0015910247 (hereafter referred to as ‘connector’) is a smaller-sized, but powerful, rectangular connector. It is ideal for applications that require high-reliability connections in tight spaces in a range of industries, from automotive and industrial to communications, computers, audio-video, and medical devices.This versatile connector features low profile construction, a rated current of 5.0A, and a rated voltage of 500V. This robust connector is able to tolerate higher temperatures than comparable products, which makes it a good choice for industrial settings.The connector consists of two sets of components: the male pin and the female header. The male pin side consists of a metal recessed pin with a silver contact tip and is placed in the female header, which is the ‘housing’ that holds the male pins. The female header is usually made of plastic or metal with rectangular blocks of individual sockets that correspond to the shape of the male pins.The male pin and female header are held together by “keyways” that run along both sides of the connectors. The ‘keyway’ design helps guide the male pin into the female header more precisely, adding greater security to the connection.In order for the connection to be successful, the female header and male pin must be properly aligned and inserted correctly.
