Crimpers

Crimpers are presses and applicators used to facilitate the formation and maintenance of connections. They are commonly used for electrical cable assemblies and are required for most hydraulic pipe fittings. Crimpers use hydraulic, pneumatic or manual-lever force to provide greater compression than is achievable through manual labor or crimping tools. Compression generally falls into two categories: crimping terminal (non-insulated) ferrules onto stranded wire and forming pre-insulated terminals onto wire. Crimpers usually feature a series of dies that can be interchanged depending on the type of connector being used.

Applicators

Applicators are machines used for attaching active components to passive networks, connecting electrical contacts that are used in a wide variety of electro-mechanical devices. Common appliators include single-head and multi-head machines for attaching terminal lugs and multi-contact contacts, automatic load-unloaders, and full-automatic feeders. Applicators are often designed to ligate wires with the minimal application of force. This can be achieved by using one of the several pattered rollers to form a secure joint.

Presses

Presses are pieces of machinery used for a variety of applications, but most commonly employed in industrial and manufacturing contexts. Thermal presses are typically used for laminating or bonding sheets, but some presses also function as stamping and forming stations. Presses come in a variety of sizes and styles, including hydraulic presses, pneumatic presses, and mechanical presses. Hydraulic presses use hydraulic fluid to provide a working force for exertion and return. Pneumatic presses rely on compressed air for exertion and return functions. Mechanical presses use electrical energy to apply pressure during exertion and rely on dampers or springs for return.
