Flat Flex

Flat Flex are helically wound electrical cables, designed to form a continuous ribbon which enables them to flex flat in the installed environment, even in tight bends. They have a resilient profile which gives the cable a higher-than-normal bend radius. They are well suited for moving applications where a high degree of flexibility is necessary, such as robotics and rotating equipment. As a cable, they are lightweight, robust and resistant to electrical shock and mechanical damage. Many of the Flat Flex cables are designed with internal shielding or earthed foil shields.

Flat Flex cables are most commonly used for applications that require flexibility and very low electrical resistance. They are typically insulated with a hard plastic cover for protection against abrasion, as well as a shield against electromagnetic interference.
