Flat Flex

Flat Flex are a type of ribbon cable which uses parallel flat conductors instead of round wires. This provides greater flexibility and allows the cable to reach tighter bends while providing better wire density. They are available in a variety of sizes, from very small to very large, and provide very good electrical characteristics.

Flat Flex cables are typically used for applications where high-speed, low-loss communication or power transfer is required. These cables can be used to transfer data between components such as memory, storage, and system boards, and are also commonly used in communications and networking applications.

Flat Flex cables work by providing a number of exposed conductors, where each conductor can carry multiple signals. These signals are transferred from one end of the cable to the other via a series of connecting contacts. The contacts can be made of different materials in order to reduce resistance and improve conductivity.

Ribbon Jumper Cables

Ribbon Jumper cables are much like Flat Flex cables, but instead of having flat conductors, they use round wires that are typically much thinner. These wires can be bent to fit into tight spaces, and provide excellent electrical characteristics, as well as unmatched flexibility. These cables are ideal for use in high-speed, low-loss communication or power transfer applications, as they are able to easily transfer data over shorter distances.

Ribbon Jumper cables work much in the same way as Flat Flex cables, with a series of connecting contacts that are able to transfer signals along the cable. However, the cables are not as flexible as Flat Flex cables, as the wires tend to be much thinner and are more likely to break.

Ribbon Jumper cables are often used in applications such as Ethernet, USB, and Serial communications. The cables are also used in signal and video transmission, as they provide better signal integrity than Flat Flex cables.
