.Flat Flex Cables
Flat flex cables are used in a variety of applications. These cables typically consist of a flexible lamination of metalized polyester or nylon films which are laminated together and die-stamped to form a flat configuration. A band of conductive material, usually copper or aluminum, passes directly through the center of the flat flex cable, providing the electrical connection. The conductor may also be composed of individually insulated wires.
Flat flex cables are generally used for applications requiring flexibility and reliability. Common applications of flat flex cables include point-to-point wiring, closed loop wiring and assembly of circuit boards. The flexibility of the cable makes it suitable for a wide range of environments including extreme temperatures, high vibration, or wet or corrosive conditions. Ribbon Jumper Cables
