Typically, the HXSP can detect and trip on one of two conditions. The first condition is that the current must exceed 120 percent of its rating for 5 milliseconds or more. The second condition is that the accumulated energy is greater than the I2t rating value. In either case, the HXSP will trip and open the circuit to prevent the motor or motor control application from sustaining damage.
