The 034-1046 is a high reliability, hermetically sealed, two piece, board level, coaxial connector. This family offers superior electrical performance for frequencies up to 18 GHz. Working Principle

At the heart of this tiny change connector is an air-gap between the two contact elements. This is done to reduce the overall length and permit blind mating. It also enhances performance. When the contacts are mated, the annular air-gap disappears and the interface forms a sealed high density, “high frequency” link. The environment sealed interface is secured using multiple spring fingers and a locked-in coupling nut/ ferrule. The connector has a grounded shell to ensure a higher degree of shielding. In combination with the air-gap interface, this offers superior electrical and shielding characteristics.

The 034-1046 Coaxial Connectors have two contact sizes. The 20-contact is rated to 11 GHz and the 24-contact is rated to 18 GHz. Both contact sizes feature a precision machined body for optimal performance. The contact material is highly conductive brass and the connector shells are made of stainless steel. The connectors have an impedance of 50 Ohms and are designed to meet the most stringent MIL-STD requirements.
