DIN 41612 backplane connectors are used in various applications to interconnect boards within a system. Common applications of the connectors include industrial automation, test & measurement, medical, transportation, rail, security, lighting, in-car entertainment, robotics, and aerospace.The DIN 41612 backplane connector is a rectangular connector with two types of solder connections at the contact ends. It has two parallel rows of pins or blades, each row being symmetrically distributed with the other. The pins and blades are arranged in a staggered configuration allowing boards to be arranged in two planes. It is a high-density multipole connector providing a high contact density in a small space. The contact system consists of rigid and detachable contacts that can be used over multiple configurations.
