A circuit breaker is an automatically operated electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by excess current from an overload or short circuit. Its basic function is to interruptcurrent flow after a fault is detected. The trip current could be adjustable depending on the expected load current of the circuit.

0915768 Application Field and Working Principle

0915768 circuit breakers, also known as MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breakers), are used to protect against over-currents and short circuits in buildings, factories, and industrial sites, though they can also be used in domestic properties to provide additional protection against over-currents. They have ratings of up to 63 A with adjustable trip current settings, depending on the expected load current. The 0915768 mini-circuit breakers are able to detect ground faults, as well as over-currents, and are therefore suitable for electric power distribution systems. They are able to operate in a range of temperatures, from - 30C to 70C, and can be operated across a wide range of voltages, ranging from 690 volts to 1000 volts.

The working principle of the 0915768 is based on a magnetic field. When an over-current or short circuit is detected, the breaker trips and the electrical circuit is broken. This is achieved through a solenoid in the breaker, which develops a magnetic field, which acts on the magnetic contact, to pull open the contacts and break the circuit. This magnetic field dissipates quickly, allowing the circuit to be reset and restored to normal current flow.

In the eventuality of a ground fault, the 0915768 circuit breaker is able to detect this and trip the circuit breaker. This is done through a device called a ground fault detector, which is connected to a digital output on the breaker. When a ground fault is detected, the output is activated and the breaker trips.
