.Flat Flex
Flat flex cables are a type of cable constructed of flexible flat ribbons of metal separated through insulation material. As compared to round cables, which are made up of metal wires, flat flex cables have superior performance because the completely flat and flexible construction not only reduces the need for maintenance but also provides an edge in mechanical applications. Working Principle
The working principle of a flat flex cable is based on the movement of the copper/conductive layers of the flat ribbon. The copper layers are in contact with each other through insulation material, and as the flat flex cable is subjected to mechanical stress, the copper layers will move relative to each other. This movement generates a voltage differential across the cable which is then channeled through the cable and into the target device.
