Backplane Connectors - Specialized are connectors designed for use in backplane or cabling systems. They are typically used as part of an electronics assembly, but can also be used for Testing and Debugging, as well as general-purpose applications.The 1-292278-2 backplane connectors are designed for use in high speed backplane applications that require improved system signal integrity. It has an increased current density and more vias on the signal pins which increases its ability to support high speed applications. It is designed to meet the requirements of MIL-STD-1906 for a 6-contact signal connector to be used in high-speed applications.The 1-292278-2 connector is composed of a mated pair of connectors, each consisting of a receptacle and a pin header. The receptacle is constructed with single piece die-cast zinc housing for increased strength and durability, and six (6) plated gold-plated pins for increased conductivity and connection performance. It also has an increased number of vias on the signal pins, which increases its ability to support higher data rates.The pin header of the 1-292278-2 has a form factor similar to that of a conventional wire-to-board connector and has two (2) rows of three (3) different contact sizes. The contact retention force is similar to that of a wire-to-board connector as well, using a combination of an interfacial seal, a contact-retaining spring and a crimp sleeve to hold each of the contacts in place.The working principle of the 1-292278-2 backplane connectors is based on the “cable to board” connector topology. It is designed for use in high speed backplane applications that require improved system signal integrity. The connector is composed of a mated pair of connectors, each consisting of a receptacle and a pin header.The 1-292278-2 has been tested and certified in accordance with the general specifications of MIL-C-83568a and meets the requirements for insertion loss up to 30 GHz. It is designed to support data rates up to 5 gigabits per second (Gbps). The connector features an increased current density and more vias on the signal pins, which increases its ability to support higher data rates.The 1-292278-2 is suitable for use in high speed backplane applications. It provides a reliable connection up to 5 Gbps and is designed for use in high speed backplane systems that require improved system signal integrity.
