Fixed Inductors

A fixed inductor is an electronic component, usually a coil of wire, with two electrical terminals which is used to store energy in the form of a magnetic field. Fixed inductors are commonly found in electronic circuits and can be used for filtering, oscillation, tuning, and impedance matching. The main uses of fixed inductors are to provide differential current signals to other components, to regulate the power delivered to a load, and to provide common mode magnetic fields to reduce interference from outside signals.

The operating principle of a fixed inductor is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Electromagnetic induction is when a changing magnetic field is generated in a coil of wire due to a current flowing through it.
