1116-R5-CW Panel Indicators, Pilot Lights

Panel indicators, also known as pilot lights, are small lights that are conspicuously placed on a panel where they can be clearly seen. They are used primarily to indicate whether a system or process has been activated by a switch, relay, or other form of control. The most common types of panel indicators are Incandescent lamps, LED (light-emitting diode) and neon lamps.

Application field

Working principle

When an electrical current is applied to the pilot light, electrical energy is converted into light energy. The bulb (either LED or incandescent) used in the lamp produces light when an electric current passes through it. When the switch controlling the source of the electrical current is in the “on” position, the pilot light will be illuminated. If the switch is in the “off” position, the pilot light will be off.
