Pushbutton Switches
Pushbutton switches are used to control circuits by providing an instantaneous path from a switch contact to ground. The most common pushbutton switch is a single pole or single throw (SPST) switch but some applications require a double pole or double throw (DPST) switch for greater control.
112-PM Application Field and Working Principle
The 112-PM is a small, low-profile pushbutton switch designed for applications requiring a short, high-performance switch. The body dimensions are 13.2 x 8.2 x 6.2mm with a switching capacity of 5A/250VAC/DC. The switch is available in a variety of full momentary and alternate action options in multiple contact configurations, such as normally open (NO), normally closed (NC) or single (SPST) and double (DPST) throw.
It features a mechanical life of 100,000 operations and a high temperature tolerance of 105°C for use in harsh environments. The integrated dust shutter prevents damage from dust and contaminants. The switch is UL, CSA and EN listed.
The 112-PM operates on the push-on principle, meaning when the button is pressed the contact closes and when the button is released the contact opens. The momentary switches must be held pressed in to keep the connected circuit live. The alternate action switches maintain the same contact whether the button is depressed or released.
