A 11304-3S RF Directional Coupler is a wideband coupler used to split an RF signal. It is used in a wide variety of applications including Testing, Measurement, Broadcast, Tracking, Security, and Military applications. It is a three-port device, with two input ports, one output port, and a reference port. The 11304-3S is designed to accurately measure relative signal power between two RF channels simultaneously. The two input ports feed into the central coupler, which splits the signal, with one part output to the single output port, while the other part is diverted to the reference port. The two signals are then measured for relative power.The working principle of the 11304-3S is based on the physical phenomenon of induction. When a current passes through a coil, it creates an electromotive force (EMF) which induces a current in the secondary coil. In the case of the 11304-3S RF Directional Coupler, two input ports are connected to two primary receptors, and the output and reference ports are connected to two secondary receptors. When there is an input signal to the primary receptors, the EMF causes a current in the secondary receptors. The induced current in the secondary receptors is proportional to the input in the primary receptors.The 11304-3S is designed for extreme frequencies ranging from DC to 1GHz. It is a typically a 70-Ohm impedance coupler. It also offers a wide variety of coupling factors ranging from 0 to 30dB. It also features a low return loss of less than -20dB, and insertion loss of less than -1dB with coupling factors up to 20dB.Furthermore, the 11304-3S features wide bandwidth and power matching range of 50 to 1000W. It also has a high input/output power capacity with an impressive linearity and a wide dynamic range of 80dB. Being a wide-bandwidth coupler, the 11304-3S makes a great addition in the test and measurement world. It is used to accurately measure and split the signal in various challenging test measurements. It is also one of the few couplers that is capable of working with frequencies from DC up to 1 GHz.Overall, the 11304-3S RF Directional Couplers enjoys wide acceptance in the market due its high accuracy and reliability.
