Terminal Strips and Turret Boards

Terminal strips and turret boards are two popular, often used methods for organizing and connecting internal electrical wiring allowing for high levels of current and/or more than 50 signals. A terminal strip, also known as a terminal block, is a device used to secure, organize and provide access to wires, and a turret board is a round plate or board used for integrating electrical signals in a machine or to another power source. Both play essential roles in hand wiring and are commonly used for electrical connections.

Application Field and Working Principle

Terminal strips are generally used in two fields – in applications intalizing and connecting motors, direction control equipment, distribution boxes,contactors,Wires and other current carrying parts. One example of its use is when connecting two transformers together in an electrical installation or a PLC to its control system. As the name suggests, a terminal strip maintains these connections.

As for the working principle of a terminal strip, it is designed with a number of terminals that allow for a wire to be connected to it. It is also used with two types of plugs – screw-type or spring-type. The terminals are wired up, and the terminal strip is then clamped together to form a connection. As for the strain relief, that is maintained by the spring held in the terminal strip. This allows the strain on the wires to be relieved and the connection secure, assuring that the components are properly connected.

In turret boards, a round plate or board is typically used as a platform to organize, organize and manage electrical signals. The board is machined in a specific design and made from wood, metal or fiberglass. It has turret-style pins, which connect the signals to the board, allowing them to be connected to other circuits. The signals that pass through the pins will then leave the board through the corresponding signal line or cable.

The working principle of a turret board is the same as a terminal strip, with the exception of the pins. In a turret board, signals are sent and received via the turret pins, and these pins are essentially configured the same way, as the terminals are in a terminal strip. The pins serve as a bridge between the signals, allowing for the signals to travel from the source to the destination. The pins are wired up, and when a voltage is applied, the signals travel to the destination.

In conclusion, it can be said both Terminal strips and Turret boards play a vital role in connecting and transferring signals in the electrical industry. The functioning of these two devices bases around the same basic principles, but they offer slightly different methods of doing the same task.
