USB
Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an industry standard for connecting computers and peripherals. USB is the most commonly used connector type for computers and other electronic devices. It is also used in many consumer electronics such as cameras, MP3 players, and printers. The USB interface allows a device to be connected to a computer and be controlled from the software running on the computer.
The USB connector is a two-piece assembly consisting of the plug and receptacle. The plug is the male component that is inserted into the female receptacle. It comes in a variety of sizes and shapes, including Type-A, Type-B, Mini-A, Mini-B, and Micro-B. A typical USB port has four pins: Power, ground, data receive, and data transmit.
The USB interface supports high speed data transfer rates of up to 5Gbps using USB 3.0. It also supports Plug-and-Play (PnP) where devices can be added or removed without having to restart the computer. USB can also provide power to connected devices so that they do not need to be plugged into a separate power source.
DVI
Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is a video interface used to connect a source device to a display device. It is a supplier-independent standard and was developed by the Digital Display Working Group (DDWG). DVI provides a digital signal between a computer and its display, and is used to connect a computer to a monitor or projector.
DVI is available in different connector types. The most common ones are DVI-D (digital), DVI-A (analog), and DVI-I (integrated). There are also Single-Link and Dual-Link versions of the DVI cables, which refer to the bandwidth capabilities. The DVI-D cable is used to transmit digital video only, while the DVI-A cable is used to transmit analog signals only. The DVI-I cable can transmit both digital and analog video signals.
The DVI interface supports resolutions of up to 1920x1080, with a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz. It also supports 8-, 10- and 12-bit color depths, enabling very accurate color reproduction. DVI is a plug-and-play connection that requires no driver installation or software configuration.
HDMI
High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is an industry standard for connecting audio and video devices. It was developed by the HDMI Forum, and is used to connect a wide variety of digital entertainment devices such as DVD players, gaming consoles, and Blu-ray players to TV sets and monitors. HDMI is the most common connector type for modern AV equipment.
The HDMI connector has 19 pins and is available in different sizes and shapes. It supports up to 8 audio channels and will output video resolutions up to 4K Ultra HD. The HDMI interface is capable of up to 18Gbps data transfer rate and supports Multi-channel Audio Return Channel (ARC) for audio playback from a TV to a compatible source. It also supports the Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) feature, which allows for control of connected devices from a single remote.
HDMI is an extremely versatile connector type and is capable of carrying audio, video, and data signals through a single cable. It is plug-and-play, requiring no software or driver installation, and is backwards-compatible with previous versions.
