To make the best connection, the contacts of the terminal block must be properly matched to the conductors being used to handle the current. Depending on the contacts used, a conductor is either secured by a small screw or pressure spring to an eyelet holder inside the terminal block.

By tightening the screw or with force from the pressure spring, a secure electrical connection is formed between the contact and the conductor. This securely clamps the wire in place and allows maximum contact from the terminal to the conductor, providing a low electrical resistance connection for continuous circuit flow.
