The 210-156 evaluation board is a DC/DC and AC/DC off-line switching mode power supply (SMPS). This board helps designers evaluate the performance of the MC34063 converter IC by mimicking the actual working conditions such as input voltage, load, frequency and other parameters. By utilizing the features of the 210-156 board, engineers can quickly test the efficacy of their design while ensuring that the board is safely bundled and thoroughly evaluated before going into production.
The 210-156 evaluation board features a buck topology convert IC, the MC34063, which has a wide operating input voltage range from 7V to 40V DC. The board is equipped with an integrated feedback resistor divider to ensure the generator achieves constant-voltage mode operation. The board also features an adjustable regulation voltage. In addition, the board can operate in both constant-voltage and constant-current mode and also provide over-current, over-voltage and thermal protection.
The 210-156 board is also designed to operate more reliably in applications with high power dissipation levels as compared to other similar evaluation boards. It features a thick thermally efficient copper trace that helps dissipate more heat away from the converter IC. The cost-effective board also offers advanced protection senses for over-voltage, over-current and thermal protection on the input and output lines.
The 210-156 board works by accepting an input voltage at a given frequency and applying the basic PWM switching techniques provided by the MC34063 IC. The IC modulates the output of the converter IC by constantly monitoring the output voltage and making adjustments to the voltage based on the input voltage and load demand. The 210-156 board also features a comprehensive instruction manual to help the user with the installation and proper use of the board.
The 210-156 evaluation board is the ideal choice for any application requiring a highly efficient, reliable and cost-effect DC/DC and AC/DC converter IC. The board offers an adjustable output regulation voltage, over-current, over-voltage and thermal protection as well as a thick copper trace to help dissipate heat away from the converter IC. The board’s comprehensive instruction manual also helps the user in the installation and use of the board ensuring that they are able to evaluate the efficacy of their design efficiently and safely.
