2116-V-RC Application Field and Working Principle

The 2116-V-RC is a fixed inductor that is primarily used in power conversion applications such as motor control, power-conditioning, and digital power supply designs. It is suitable for use in resonant and non-resonant switching circuits, as well as noisy and filtered environments.

The 2116-V-RC is a surface mount device with a wide package size of 2.12"x1.61"x0.47" (54mm x 41mm x 12mm). This allows for easy installation and provides superior electrical and thermal performance. It can handle up to 10A and has a rated current range of 0.2 A- 10A.

The 2116-V-RC uses a unique winding construction that provides excellent high frequency performance while reducing radiated noise. This winding construction also helps in dissipating heat generated due to high frequency switching, resulting in improved electrical and thermal efficiency. The inductor is also rated to safely operate in temperatures up to +155°C.

The operating principle of the 2116-V-RC involves the use of a magnetic field to induce an electric current in a coil. When the voltage is applied to the coil, a magnetic field is created in the core material. This magnetic field extends through the entire core and induces an electric current in the coil. This electric current creates a back EMF, which opposes the current flowing in the circuit. The amount of current flowing must equal the back EMF, and the current flow is thus limited by the magnetic field.
