Fixed Inductors

Inductors are electrical components which store energy in the form of a magnetic field, they can also be used as a filter by suppressing the high frequency ripple currents. The 2150R-14G is a type of fixed inductor that is mostly used in measuring electrical parameters such as current and voltage. This type of inductor is usually constructed with an insulated wire core that is wound with a fine metallic coil. It is then wrapped with a semi-rigid plastic cover to serve as insulation.

Application Field

Fixed inductors such as the 2150R-14G are used for various applications in the medical, consumer, commercial and industrial sectors. Working Principle

The fixed inductor works by opposing the current flowing through it. This is done by generating a magnetic field around the inductor when connected to a power source. The magnitude of this magnetic field depends on the current, material used for the core and the number of turns in the wire. This magnetic field induces a voltage in the inductor which is opposite to the applied voltage. This opposition to the current flow is known as inductive reactance and is represented by the equation X = 2πfL, where X represents the inductive reactance of the inductor, f is the frequency of the alternating current, and L is the inductance in Henries.

The inductance of an inductor is proportional to the number of turns in the coil, the diameter of the coil and the material used for the core. The inductance value can be determined with the help of a coil calculator or by referring to the manufacturer\'s datasheet.The inductance value and the frequency of the current determines the inductor’s impedance as well as the amount of current that is allowed to flow through the inductor.

The inductor can be used to measure voltage and current in a circuit by connecting it in series with the component. This allows the inductor to store energy in the form of an electromotive force. This stored energy is then converted to current before it is passed on to the next component in the circuit. This is the basic principle by which the 2150R-14G fixed inductor is used to measure parameters in an electrical circuit.
