Working Principle

The 2152A5 consists of a lamp housing, a lens and a bulb, typically available in colors white, red, yellow, green and blue. The voltage at which the lamp operates is dependent on the type of bulb. High-pressure sodium lamps operate at 220V while LED bulbs can operate under different voltages as low as 3V. The lamp is supplied with a pre-stretched coil system for quick installation, and it also has provisions for easy dimming. Flexible aluminium alloy strips are connected to the base of the lamp for durability and good thermal characteristics.

The terminals of the 2152A5 are connected to the power source, typically a DC power supply, and the closed-circuit condition causes the current flow to pass through the lamp, thereby generating visible light. When the switch or trigger is activated, the current passes through the lamp, turning it into an “on” state. Here, the bulb produces visible light, thereby alerting or indicating the need for attention or action. Moreover, the distinct colour coding of the pilot light helps in easily distinguishing between a safe and an unsafe condition.

The pilot light also helps to control a process. When the sensor detects a defect in the process, a signal will be sent to the control electronics which then controls a certain part of the system.
