Working Principle

The data transfer uses two signal lines, the serial data line (SDA) and the serial clock line (SCL). The master initiates communication by issuing a START condition on the data line, followed by a slave address. During data transfer, the master initiates the data on the falling edge of the serial clock and the slave device responds on the rising edge. Data is transmitted in either 7-bit or 10-bit slave address formats. The acknowledgement bit is sent by the slave to the master following a slave address and valid data.
The 24AA025E48T-I/OT includes a range of read and write operations. Reads and Writes are controlled by the write-enable (WE) input. There are two write operations available: Page Write and Random Write. In the Page Write operation, data can be written one-byte at a time up to the maximum capacity of the array. Random Write operation allows the user to write data within the array without the need to write the whole page. There is also a protection register which can be used to set the upper byte protection.
