The 2903916 motor driver board is an integrated motor driver and peripheral logic designed to control brushed and brushless DC motors. Working Principle

The 2903916 driver board consists of an electrically isolated, two channel integrated motor driver, capable of controlling the speed and positioning of two differential winding motors. The board also contains a control logic, logic drivers and other circuits used for preventing driver latches while motor is at high speed. It operates in an integrated two-stage motor control manner, and combines the pulse width modulation (PWM) technique with pulse frequency modulation (PFM) for motor control.

The first stage is a PWM stage, which uses six high-current bridges and Bidirectional Electronic Fuses (BEEFs) for providing the switching and protection of the motor power. The amplitude of the PWM pulse is then adjusted by the user according to the operating voltage and torque requirements of the motor. The second stage is a PFM drive, which uses a digital signal processor (DSP) to precisely adjust the firing delay of the motor bridges in order to minimize vibration and maximize efficiency.

The 2903916 driver board also includes a built-in 0 - 5 V analog material speed input port, as well as a 0 - 5 V digital speed input/output port. These two ports can be used to control the speed and direction of the motor independently, allowing the system to be capable of positioning control as well as speed control.
