2JS (Joule Sector) fuses are a type of thermal-magnetic fuse that use a thermal element and magnetic element to detect overloads and short circuits. They incorporate a movable coil-spring mechanism to detect overloads. A current carrying metal strip is attached to the coil spring. When the current through the metal strip exceeds the fuse\'s ratings, the coil spring deforms, thus increasing the resistance and causing the fuse to trip.
