Thermal Cutoffs (Thermal Fuses) are an essential component in protecting electronic equipment from single occurrences of over temperature. The 3-104-513 series is a current limiting thermal fuse with a circuit breaker, offering both single-use safety protection and multi-use features in one single device.
The 3-104-513 series includes thermal fuses with a rated current of 4 Amp to 10 Amp with a voltage rating of between 10 VAC and 30 VAC which can be used in electronic equipment, such as televisions, computers, power supplies, household appliances, toys, and light fixtures. The device is UL certified and meets the requirements of ABYC E-11.
The 3-104-513 helps to provide safety from both Ac and Dc over-voltage and/or current occurrences, thus protecting the connected equipment from any harsh over-elaborations. It is also functional in preventing accidental damage from Dc (direct current) over current flow.
The 3-104-513 series is designed with a thermal protector integrated with a breaker, thereby avoiding thermal, mechanical, and electrical fatigue. Its operating temperature range is -25°C to 125°C and it can disconnect the affected loading circuit whenever it detects an over-temperature condition. The breaker contacts remain open when the fuse trips, thus actively disconnecting the circuit until it is manually reset.
The unit\'s integrated circuit breaker and thermal protector appliance help to provide single-use safety protection against abnormal operating conditions. Moreover, the circuit breaker offers multi-use functionality. It can be reset on demand or when the over-temperature condition has been addressed. Thus, it can extend the life of the device by helping to limit the number of times that the safety protection is required.
The 3-104-513 series acts as a safeguard for electronic devices from single-use over temperature occurrences. Its circuit breaker and thermal protector integrated construction provide not just single-use but also multi-use features to the gadget. These intrinsically safe thermal fuses offer easy resettability, allowing users to replace the protective device should it be damaged.
