The parallel configuration reduces the voltage drop between conductors and thus provides higher efficiency. Electromagnetic energy is produced when a conductor moves in a magnetic field. This energy is transmitted from one conductor to another in the form of electric current. Furthermore, the voltage drop between the conductors is reduced due to the inductive effect.
