Working Principle

The working principle of the 353SB3A38CT oscillator is based on a ceramic resonator. This resonator is like a small capacitor. Depending on the dielectric constant of the ceramic materials, the resonance frequency of the oscillator can be various. It is within a frequency range of from 1 MHz to 50 MHz.

The ceramic resonator includes of two electrodes. Moreover, these two electrodes also contain a metal coating that is installed for insulation and device support. However, if the resistance or capacitance is decreased, then the frequency will increase. This offers a flexibility of oscillator frequency.
