Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) shielding and absorbing materials are integral components in today’s electronics industry. RFI and EMI have the potential to interfere with normal operations and degrade performance. 354005 shielding and absorbing materials are designed to prevent the incursion of these problems in a wide range of applications and technologies.
In aviation, RFI and EMI can cause problems with navigation and communication systems. 354005 materials are used to shield aircraft navigation and communication systems from interference from outside sources and other systems within the aircraft. They are used to create a physical barrier for passage of RFI and EMI, and to absorb any signals that do pass. In order to be effective, 354005 materials must provide a complete, low resistance, electromagnetic path around equipment.
In military applications, 354005 materials are used to prevent unwanted emissions from the radio equipment and to reduce the vulnerability of the equipment itself to EMI. 354005 materials are utilized in the construction of tents, aircraft shelters and other structures to provide protection from external RFI and EMI that could affect the equipment housed within these protecting enclosures. Such shielding materials reduce the amount of emitted RFI and EMI while increasing protection from external sources.
354005 materials are also used in automotive electronics, medical equipment, computer systems, communication systems, and other electronic systems. The 354005 shielding and absorbing materials effectively absorb RFI and EMI energy and prevent it from reaching sensitive electronic components. These materials are also designed to reduce the amount of unwanted emissions from the system. By absorbing and dissipating the energy, the material prevents it from coupling to other equipment or from escaping into the environment.
The working principles behind the 354005 materials involve a combination of electrical conduction, Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction, and the ability of a material to absorb electromagnetic energy. In the case of Faraday’s Law, when electric charge is allowed to move within a conductor, it produces a magnetic field. According to the Faraday Effect, a moving magnetic field creates an electric field which in turn creates an electric current in the conductor. This magnetic field can then be coupled with a second conductor and induce electric current there as well.
The electrical conduction properties of the 354005 materials permit the passage of current through them. This forms a conductive barrier that serves to shield electrical products from outside interference. The material then absorbs the electrical energy instead of allowing it to pass through it. The absorption of RFI and EMI energy can be accomplished through the material\'s conductivity or through a combination of high permeability and low conductivity.
The ability of a material to absorb energy is based on the principle of impedance matching. If a material has an impedance that is the same or greater than that of the disturbance, the energy will be absorbed instead of propagating through the material. The 354005 material has a very low impedance, which enables it to be used in a wide range of applications where absorption of RFI and EMI is needed.
354005 materials have proven to be effective at minimising unwanted RFI and EMI for a number of different electronics applications. By utilising electrical conduction and the Faraday Effect, the materials can create an effective shielding and absorbent barrier. This can be used to protect electronic equipment from outside interference and reduce the amount of unwanted emissions.
