Aluminum - Polymer Capacitors
Aluminum - polymer capacitors, also known as 35SEPF39M+TSS (Tweakable Sub-Size) capacitors, are a novel type of ceramic capacitors with special features that distinguish them from standard ceramic capacitors. These features include low ESR, high capacitance, low leakage current, and excellent frequency stability. The aluminum-polymer structure of such capacitors enables them to have increased capacitance in a very small form factor, while providing greater electrochemical and mechanical stability than standard ceramic capacitors.
Applications of 35SEPF39M+TSS Capacitors
The high capacitance and low ESR of aluminum-polymer capacitors make them an ideal choice for a variety of applications, including DC-DC power converters, power amplifiers, power conditioners, audio amplifiers, and electromechanical systems. These capacitors are also often used in RF and microwave circuits, providing a highly reliable solution for high-frequency signal processing applications. Additionally, the low leakage current and excellent frequency stability of aluminum-polymer capacitors allow them to be used in high-end audio and other signal processing systems, where signal integrity is of critical importance.
Working Principle of 35SEPF39M+TSS Capacitors
Aluminum - polymer capacitors are constructed in a unique configuration, with a durable dielectric separator separating two layers of aluminum-polymer dielectric material. One layer is composed of a hard-dielectric resin, while the other layer is composed of a soft-dielectric resin, with both layers connected to a central electrode. The hard and soft layers of the dielectric material act together to form a capacitor with a higher capacitance per unit area than a standard ceramic capacitor.
The properties of aluminum-polymer capacitors are determined by the type of dielectric material that is used. Hard-dielectric materials are capable of providing higher capacitance and higher frequency stability, while soft-dielectric materials are able to provide lower ESR and higher leakage current values.
In order to maximize the performance of aluminum-polymer capacitors, the manufacturers of these capacitors must carefully select the correct dielectric material to be used in the construction of their capacitors. Depending on the application, different dielectric materials are used in order to achieve the desired performance characteristics. For instance, for audio applications, an aluminum-polymer capacitor made with a soft-dielectric material is typically used, while for high-frequency signal processing applications, a capacitor made with a harder-dielectric material is typically used.
In general, aluminum-polymer capacitors have been found to be highly reliable and have become a preferred choice in a variety of circuit designs. Due to their excellent electrical performance characteristics, these capacitors are often used in applications where space is at a premium and where signal integrity is critical. Additionally, they are becoming increasingly popular in a variety of commercial, industrial, and military applications.
