Fuses: 3SB 3 Application Field and Working Principle
The 3SB 3 fuses, also known as V30, are meant for the protection of switchgears, transformers, and all kinds of alternating current single-phase and three-phase networks and appliances. They can be used to control, start and protect against hazardous undervoltages and overvoltages of alternating and direct currents.

Working Principle
3SB 3 fuses are AC current fuses with no electrical components except for the contacts. They offer short-circuit protection in accordance with IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards.
When subjected to an overcurrent, the fuse is composed of two parts that collapses, causing an interruption of the current. As each fuse contains no electric contact points that are moving against each other, it is possible to use them in relatively harsh conditions (e.g. vibrations, dust and dirt).
The fuse also contains an anti-jump contact, which is operated under normal current conditions. Its purpose is to prevent any possible nuisance tripping due to temporary overcurrents or high inrush currents.
