Oscillators with pin-configurable or selectable outputs can provide a wide range of frequencies with a single part.The 552AJ000956DGR is a high-performance, pin-selectable oscillator that supports frequency selections of 10MHz to 200MHz with a frequency resolution of 10MHz.. The device offers a variety of frequencies with a wider frequency range, frequency resolution and levels of phase noise performance than ever before. It features a 3.3V LVPECL, LVHSTL or LVCMOS output, up to 100MHz, a 1.8V HCMOS output and a variety of customer pin-selectable timing options.The 552AJ000956DGR is highly configurable and can be used to provide multiple frequency outputs from the same device. It is suitable for a variety of applications, including wireless communications, computing, test and measurement, avionics, industrial and embedded systems. The device is designed for use in both commercial and automotive applications, and can be used as a pin-programmable frequency generator in applications such as multi-rate transceivers.The device uses a two wire programming interface to control the frequency output. The pins contain resistor networks with 3 to 6 pins which are programmed to different pins. Each pin contains an associated resistor network that is used to select a given frequency. By changing the resistor networks and associated frequencies, the user can select the desired output frequency or different combinations of frequencies.The device also includes a clock synthesis circuit which is used to generate a wide range of frequencies. The circuit includes a programmable reference clock and phase locked loop (PLL) to synthesise a wide range of frequency outputs.
