Fixed Inductors

Inductors are passive electronic components which store energy in a magnetic field from an electric current. They are primarily used as components of an electrical circuit, to increase current flow or store energy in the form of a magnetic field. Fixed inductors have a fixed inductance value in a given circuit, meaning their operation is not impacted by a varying input voltage. A fixed inductor does not change the current in a steady-state circuit; however, in a pulsating circuit, the inductor will cause current to flow into the circuit longer than it would without the inductor. This type of inductor is sometimes referred to as a passive delay line.

The 5900-682 Fixed Inductor is designed to provide superior voltage and current ratings, as well as excellent linearity and accuracy. This device has an internal resistance (Ri) of 8.7 ohms, inductance of 2.2 mH, and maximum DC current of 3.7 A. It also has a high-frequency Resonant Characteristic (Hi-Rez) of 2.35 MHz. Additionally, this inductor has an operating temperature range of -40 to +125 ˚C.

The 5900-682 application field includes power supplies, switch mode power supplies, switch circuits, and other applications which require a low internal resistance. It is also suitable for use in a wide variety of audio, industrial, and consumer electronics applications as a high-quality, high-accuracy inductor for inductors.
