Fixed inductors or coils are widely used in various electrical and electronic applications. They are components which convert electrical energy into magnetic energy. The function of a coil is to make an electric current produces an electromagnetic field. The induction process may be reversed if the coil is placed in a changing magnetic field. A changing magnetic field will then induce a current through the coil. This phenomenon has been used in various modern electronic devices for the transmission and reception of radio waves.
The most common coils used in electronic circuits are classified as ferrite-core, paper-core, carbon-core, and metal-core. The various types of fixed inductors are often used for various electrical equipment, such as, amplifiers, antennas, amplifiers, receivers, and computers. The specifications of these fixed inductors must be determined depending upon the application wherein they are used.
A more specialized form of fixed inductor is the 6000-330K-RC coil. This type of coil is mainly used in nano-technology applications such as micro-electronic circuits, cellular phones and miniaturized communication systems. The 6000-330K-RC coil is a multi-layer ferrite core device with a high current rating, low power consumption and low resistance. It is a type of inductor which has been designed for high performance in a miniaturized package. The 6000-330K-RC coil has a maximum current handling capacity of 33024A, a maximum surge current up to 336A, and a maximum operating temperature up to 175 degree Celsius. The 6000-330K-RC coil has a slim design of 3.3 x 1.3 mm which makes it suitable for miniaturization.
The working principle of this type of inductor is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. When an electric current passes through the coil, it produces a magnetic field, which in turn induces an electric current in a nearby coil. The induced current is directly proportional to the rate of change of magnetic field in the coil. In other words, the faster the magnetic field changes, the greater the induced current. The induced current creates a counter-field which opposes the original magnetic field, thus restricting the flow of electric current in the coil. This phenomenon is referred to as inductive reactance and is the basis for the working principle of a fixed inductor.
