Thermal - Thermoelectric, Peltier modules are a type of device that converts AC or DC electric current into the heat exchange to create a temperature differential between two surfaces. Utilizing the Seebeck effect, which happens when a voltage is produced across a closed loop in two dissimilar metals, the Peltier effect is used to create a temperature difference between two sides of the module. Popularly known as TECs, the Peltier modules are extremely effective when it comes to thermal management and can be used for a variety of applications such as medical, industrial, and aerospace.

The 71035-505 Peltier module is one such device. It is a 4-stage module and comes with a variety of features such as low voltage operation, low thermal resistance, and fast switching speeds. With a maximum operating current of 4.6A, the 71035-505 module is ideal for applications where the power required is higher than other modules. This module’s 4 high-blue ceramic wafers are able to provide a maximum temperature difference of 55°C when being supplied with 48V.

The 71035-505 is ideal for controlling temperatures in medical and industrial cooling applications such as cooling optical fiber transmitters, laser diodes, and semiconductor laser systems. It is also an effective cooling system for LED lighting systems, fast scanning systems, and high speed imaging systems. Additionally, the 71035-505 is capable of efficiently handling applications such as cosmetics testing, experiments with related to temperature control in biomedical tests and medical implants, industrial process heating and cooling, and data center cooling.

The 71035-505 Peltier module works on the principle of thermal transfer. Heat is pumped from one side of the module to the other to create the cooling effect. This is achieved by an electromotive force being applied to the junction between the two plates. The junction between the two plates is then made up of two different metals, whereby a thermoelectric effect is created. Once the EMF has been applied, current passes through the module and heat is transferred.

The 71035-505 is a thermoelectric Peltier module that contains four thermoelectric elements. Each element is made out of two ceramic wafers connected by four thin metal bands. The two metal bands are referred to as p-type and n-type wafers and they are connected to the electrical circuit. When current is applied to the module, the voltage causes the electrons of one side of the module to flow from the p-type to n-type wafer and vice versa. This flow of electrons creates a temperature difference between the two sides of the module which is known as Peltier effect and is used to create a cooling effect.
