Application Field:
74LVT245BBT20-13 can be used in logic-level buffer/driver applications, in 3-state buffer/driver applications, to level shift between TTL and CMOS levels, and to level translations between 3.3V CMOS/TTL and 5V CMOS/TTL signals. It can also be used to convert between a bus output and individual output levels. The 74LVT245BBT20-13 is also suitable for fast switching and bidirectional data bus operation.
Work Principle:
The 74LVT245BBT20-13 consists of an array of sixteen non-inverting buffers/drivers with 3-state outputs. The outputs are controlled by two active-LOW Output Enable (OE1, OE2) inputs which, when tied LOW, enable the 3-state outputs for normal operation. When both Output Enable inputs are tied HIGH, all outputs will be in a high-impedance state. Logic 0 level at the Output Enable inputs will enable the outputs for normal operation.
The data for each output is provided by the Input (A-P) pins. The outputs are fed back to the Input pins to ensure an interlocked operation when selecting from different sources. By driving the Output Enable inputs LOW, the 3-state outputs will be in normal operation mode.
The 74LVT245BBT20-13 provides a balanced propagation and output enable time of 500ns/45ns (typt./max). This enables fast switching times between sources and makes it suitable for fast data bus applications.
