74VCX162245TTR is a general-purpose, low-voltage, high-speed, triple-level translator. This logic buffer uses state-of-the-art flip-flop and a high-speed MOS pass-gate for the transfer of a data bit between two independent logic families. It can be used as a translator in a bi-directional I/O or two-way memory bus.
The 74VCX162245TTR is suitable for isolating and transferring digital level signals between different logic families such as TTL, NMOS, NMOS-A and CMOS. It is designed to drive a more than 15 pF load at up to 5 ns per transition. The buffer operates over an operating voltage range of 1.5 V to 3.6 V.
Application Fields
The 74VCX162245TTR logic buffer is most commonly used in clock and data buses, which require wide-level shifting capabilities between different logic families. These types of buffers are ideal for applications that require the maximum level shifting in a very small package. Working Principle
The logic buffer is composed of two data input ports, "A" and "B", two data output ports, "Y" and "Z", two strobes, "S" and "R", and two clock enable ports, "CEA" and "CEB". When a logic high is present on the strobes and the clock enables, data from "A" is transferred to "Y" and data from "B" is transferred to "Z". In this case, data from "A" does not go through "B" and vice versa. This is due to a high-speed MOS pass-gate that isolate the two sides from each other and exchange the data between the "A" and "B" without any delay. All four data ports can be used in the uni-directional or bi-directional mode.
The 74VCX162245TTR is a 3-state device and when the output enable, "OE", is low "Y" and "Z" are disabled and the output will be in a high-impedance state. The device has two clock enable that can be used to stop the two sides of the buffer independently. This will limit the power consumption and reduce the propagation delay of the buffer.
The 74VCX162245TTR has an operating voltage of 1.5 to 3.6V and it is designed to drive a more than 15 pF load. The buffer can also work over a wide temperature range from -40°C to +125°C and it is housed in a small TSSOP-14 package.
