An AC Fan is an electronically commutated motor (ECM) designed to operate with AC power. It has a built-in controller that monitors the speed and noise levels of the motor, and adjusts the frequency and output of the fan. With ECM technology, AC fans are capable of providing greater efficiency and increased reliability than conventional fan motors.
