In second-order compensation mode, the oscillator uses two TCXOs to further improve the frequency accuracy and stability under changing environmental conditions.

When the oscillator is running in the first-order mode, the internal switch can be set to automatically switch off one TCXO for lower power consumption. In the second-order mode, the switch can be turned on to maintain multiple temperature compensated oscillators running for improved stability.
