Film Capacitors
Film capacitors are composed of a thin dielectric film, typically polyester (PET or Mylar), which is wrapped around a cylindrical form to produce a very small electrical capacity. They are extremely reliable and have excellent dielectric properties, stability and temperature coefficient. Film capacitors can be used in a variety of applications due to their compact size, good quality factors, low loss and cost.
930C6P47K-F is a polyester film capacitor which is widely used in AC applications and power supplies. It has a rated voltage of 250 VDC and a rated current of 4.7 mA. The maximum ripple current is 0.35 A.
Working Principle
The working principle of a 930C6P47K-F capacitor is based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. This states that a changing magnetic field induces an electric field which causes a current to flow in its circuit. In the case of the 930C6P47K-F, the principle of operation is based on the use of two charged conductive electrodes (the ‘plates’) placed at a fixed distance apart. The plates are wrapped by a dielectric film that separates the two polarized surfaces. When a voltage is applied to the capacitor, an electric field is generated between the two plates, and the dielectric film acts as an insulator.
When a voltage is applied to the capacitor, an equal and opposite voltage is developed between the plates. A reverse voltage generates an electric field opposing the applied field, so that the total electric field generated will be less than the applied field. The dielectric film now acts as an electrical storage device, storing the charge which is translated into a potential energy. This stored energy forms an electric field, which when removed, releases the stored energy. Thus, a capacitor is a component which is able to store the energy of an electric field.
Applications
The 930C6P47K-F capacitor is widely used in various AC and DC applications, due to its low loss and stable performance. It is typically used in power supplies, AC line filtering, etc. It is also widely used in motor starters, switching circuits, high frequency resonator circuits and similar applications.
It is also commonly used in audio and video communications, robotics, lighting and other consumer products. The capacitor is also used in medical equipment, aircrafts, aerospace instruments and other high-end applications.
The 930C6P47K-F capacitor is a low cost and reliable component which is widely used in many applications due to its excellent dielectric properties, low loss and stable performance.
