Film capacitors are widely used in electrical and electronic engineering, and the 942C20P15K-F capacitor is one such example of this technology. The first disc has a positive pole which is the cathode, and the second disc has the negative pole which is the anode. The area of the discs is determined by their capacitance value, the larger the area the higher the capacitance value. This capacitor also has a low-inductance design to provide high frequency performance. The capacitor also has a low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) which is important in applications where the capacitor will be subject to high-frequency currents.The intended use of 942C20P15K-F capacitor is as an AC line filter. Filtering is required in many applications to reduce the amount of noise present in the signal, or to reduce the amount of interference from other surrounding signals.
