Crystals
Crystals play an important role in electronics and telecommunications, generally speaking they are used as frequency or electrical products such as functioning as oscillators. A crystal oscillator is an electronic oscillator circuit that uses a piezoelectric resonator, a crystal, as its frequency-determining element. The crystal creates an electrical vibration at a certain frequency, which is determined by the cut and size of the crystal. The ABM10W-26.0410MHZ-4-J1Z-T3 oscillator is a common choice and is widely used in functions such as timing, frequency control, and communication.
Application Field
The ABM10W-26.0410MHZ-4-J1Z-T3 Crystal Oscillator is designed for a wide range of applications. This crystal is suitable for use in R/C receivers, transmitters, modems, CPU clock circuits and other timing circuits. It can also be used in precision oscillator designs, analog and digital audio applications, instrumentation and communication. Due to its precision and accuracy, it is commonly used as the reference frequency for other oscillators. This crystal is an absolute must for any frequency control application.
Working Principle
The ABM10W-26.0410MHZ-4-J1Z-T3 Crystal Oscillator consists of a quartz crystal in series resonance with an associated oscillator circuitry. The crystal oscillator is based on the principle of the vibrating crystal, when an alternating electric current is passed through a quartz crystal, it vibrates in an alternating electrical and mechanical manner. The mechanical vibration causes the crystal to vibrate in a number of different frequencies and when it is cut or sized to the proper dimensions and mounted in an oscillator circuit, it can be made to resonate at a specific frequency.
The crystal is mounted in the circuit in such a way that it forms a simple series resonant circuit, this way when an alternating voltage is applied to the circuit, the crystal will begin to vibrate on the resonant frequency. The frequency of the crystal depends on the specific material (quartz) used and other factors such as impurities and resistance of the circuit. The ABM10W-26.0410MHZ-4-J1Z-T3 crystal is designed to vibrate at 26.0410Mhz which is the frequency it is designed for.
The crystal oscillator is usually connected to an amplifier circuit which is used to boost the amplitude of the vibrational frequency and then this amplified signal is passed to an electronic component such as a microcontroller or a radio receiver and the component then uses this frequency as its reference. The crystal oscillator makes it easy to accurately measure the frequency, so it can be used to to time events, measure time and as a reference frequency in a range of different electronic devices.
