It features a user interface of 8 pins and incorporates an on-chip nonvolatile memory, allowing for storage and recall of the most recent settings.

Working Principle
The AD5227BUJZ50-RL7 digital potentiometer works on the principle of ‘variable resistance per step’. Its resistance varies with each step as the resistance of each step is determined by the stored value of the stored value in the device’s memory. This device utilizes the EEPROM technology which allows for addition or deletion of the resistance depending on the level of voltage present.
The digital potentiometer also incorporates a comparator circuit, which compares the reference voltage applied at the Vref pin with the output of the potentiometer.
