The AD7524JR is a precision 12-bit digital to analog converter (DAC) designed to deliver services and capabilities from low-bandwidth applications up to those at the highest available bandwidth. It offers 14-bit monotonic operation with excellent linearity, and has both in-range and non-linearity specifications for very low output noise and distortion. The AD7524JR also provides 13-bit parallel port pull-up/pull-down current output. The device is well-fit for buffered voltage- outputs and provides an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.
These features make the AD7524JR suitable for a wide range of data acquisition and digital signal processing operations. It can be used in a wide variety of applications, such as industrial automation, robotics, medical instrumentation, instrumentation amplifiers, bi-phase signal converters, test and measurement systems, and digital audio systems. The AD7524JR employs a typical 12-bit architecture to implement fully differential data acquisition from both CV (constant voltage) and CL (constant current) applications. The reference input impedance is selectable between 10kΩ and 1000Ω through an internal register. The amplifier is driven by a ~ 1MHz 2-phase master clock and a ~ 2MHz dual-phase clock is used to sample data into the data path.
The data is stored in a digital shift-register and periodically transferred to the dual DACs that control the output. A 50Ω internal pull-up and pull-down current is provided for output current. The device also provides a low power consumption, low noise, and low distortion features.
The AD7524JR allows for fast and convenient data acquisition operations. It has an adjustable programmable output range of 0V to 6.9V with a maximum output current of +/- 20mA. The device allows two separate data acquisition paths, with three data acquisition modes (single-ended, differential and rising edge). Low-level noise is reduced by an autocalibration feature of the device. The high accuracy of the data acquisition path ensures that the data is accurate and reliable.
