The AD7547JR-REEL is a digital to analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices. It converts an 8-bit digital code into a single-ended, 10-bit mono-stable analog voltage. This unit provides a full 0 to 5V output swing, as well as excellent linearity, low power consumption, and software programmability. The AD7547JR-REEL contains 8 bits of digital input ports which connect to eight external digital sources. Internally, it utilizes a 10-bit DAC architecture designed to provide precision overview of the digital input data. This feature also helps to ensure that the AD7547JR-REEL\'s output voltage is consistent even in the presence of small variations in the input codes. Furthermore, it has the ability to program its output voltage level via the new “clocking” feature. This feature allows the user to set the output voltage level at an arbitrary voltage level with the help of a simple digital clock input. The AD7547JR-REEL also features an onboard REEL package which makes for easy installation onto a single board or at development stages in a simplified integrated system. It also has a low power consumption of 14 mW and a typical power supply current of 11 mA on 3.3V power supply.Application Field

The AD7547JR-REEL DAC works on the principle of mapping an 8-bit digital input code to a single-ended, 10-bit mono-stable analog voltage. The 8-bit input code is first scanned and then passed through a 10-bit internal D/A converter. The D/A converter processes the input code, converts it into its corresponding analog voltage, and then produces a stable analog voltage output. The AD7547JR-REEL has a typical linearity of 0.05% total integral non-linearity (TINL) which ensures accurate and stable analog output even in presence of small variations in the input digital codes. It also features an onboard REEL package which makes it suitable for mounting on a single board and help in reducing the development time when integrated in a system. The REEL package also features an onboard pin that can be used to software program the analog voltage output level.
