The ADC32J42EVM evaluation board (EVB) is an excellent tool for design engineers to help them evaluate the features and performance of the ADC32J42 high performance high accuracy 16-bit analog to digital converter (ADC). The ADC32J42EVM comes with 14-bit accuracy (ENOB) and 121.4dBFS signal-to-noise ratio and includes on-board power supplies and an easy-to-use GUI for configuration and control. With the ADC32J42EVM, it is a convenient way for design engineers to get up and running quickly with testing the performance of the ADC devices.
The ADC is used for a variety of applications in many fields such as communications, test & measurement, medical equipment and imaging systems. Communications applications require accurate digitization of fast and wide dynamic range signals. Test & measurement and medical equipment require very accurate readings of small signals. Imaging systems require real-time acquisition and accurate digital capture of image information. The ADC32J42EVM helps to reduce the time it takes for these applications to prototype and debug their designs.
The ADC32J42EVM is based on the Texas Instruments ADC32J42 high performance, 16-bit, analog to digital converter. It includes the Grove Components CAPTURE Interface board to provide simple, yet powerful, configuration options for the EVB. It also includes the signal routing and clocking components required for an ADC application. It has on-board FPGA for signal conditioning and advanced functionality. It also has a capacitive isolation feature for enhanced ESD protection.
In addition, the ADC32J42EVM includes the flexibility and scalability required for modern advanced analog to digital conversion. The ADC32J42 is a low power, wide input range, high accuracy, 16-bit ADC with a sampling rate of up to 3.2 GSPS. The board features an integrated External VREF and adjustable Output Scaling Voltage that allows for precise signal gain control. It also has an integrated adjustable Gain Select input to adjust the gain for different input signal levels.
The ADC32J42EVM also includes an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) that allows the user to easily access and control all of the features and functions of the ADC32J42. Through the GUI, users can set the input voltage range, control the output scaling voltage, select gain, and control the clock source. The EVB also includes monitoring and safety features, as well as an Ethernet port, which allow the user to connect to a control terminal over a network for debugging and programming.
The ADC32J42EVM also allows the user to evaluate various ADC configurations and adjustment settings simultaneously, in order to compare various solutions and find the best design for a particular application. Additionally, the EVB includes an on-board LCD display that allows the user to monitor a wide range of parameters as the ADC is running. The LCD display can be used to quickly check the current settings of the board and observe the effects of modifications to ADC parameters.
The ADC32J42EVM comes with documentation and code examples that provide a powerful starting point for the user\'s design.
