The Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) are devices used to convert physical properties of analog signals into digital signals for further processing. They are usually used for industrial, consumer, and medical applications such as audio processing, motor control and monitoring, voltage measurement, etc. They are also used in a variety of other applications such as digital cameras, computers, and test and measurement equipment.The Texas Instruments ADC32J43EVM evaluation board is a flexible, multi-channel, 12 bit resolution, low power, low power Analog to Digital Converter with programmable sample rate and direct data output. It is designed to provide real-time evaluation of a device\'s performance and features before hardware design. It can also be used as a development tool for the evaluation and design of applications using the ADC32J43.The ADC32J43EVM board uses two evaluation devices:1. The ADC32J43 – A 12 bit, high performance, low power, multi-channel analog to digital converter that can operate over a wide voltage range from 1.8V to 3.6V and can sample an input signal at up to 200 Msamples per second (MSPS).2. The SM8664 – A 16 bit, low power, programmable interconnect device designed to facilitate connection of different device modules without the need for multiple external memory chips.The TI ADC32J43EVM board is designed to assist both novice and experienced users in employing the ADC32J43 and SM8664 devices. The board also provides 8 user-definable connector ports allowing various external components to be connected. This makes it easy to tailor the board for different applications.One of the primary use cases of the ADC32J43EVM board is the evaluation of motion detectors, this application involves the conversion of a continuous analog signal generated by an accelerometer/gyroscope (eg GY-521) or motion sensor into digital data, which can then be processed for motion analysis. To achieve this application, the ADC32J43EVM board needs to be connected to a motion sensor.The ADC32J43EVM board works on the principle of successive approximation. This process is essentially a process of determining the digital equivalent of an analog signal in a sequential manner. The process involves an initial approximation of the analog signal, followed by an iterative sampling of the analog signal, until the final digital equivalent of the analog input is achieved. This process is done by the SAR (Successive Approximation register) of the ADC32J43. The SAM8664 is used to configure the necessary electrical and timing parameters for the SAR to operate efficiently.The ADC32J43EVM board also contains SAM8664 and ADC32J43 registers for simplifying the system configuration for different applications. The board can be used to evaluate the analog-to-digital conversion performance of signals with different signal bandwidths and resolution. The board also provides various output modes such as digital calibration, digital calibration and output, and direct output.The ADC32J43EVM board is an ideal solution for evaluation and design of motion sensing and other ADC applications. It is also suitable for users who want to "try before buying". It provides an accurate, low power solution for motion sensing applications and other ADC related applications. The board is easy to use, install, and configure, and has a wide range of features.
