ADP1649CB-EVALZ belongs to the evaluation board for LED drivers, which integrates LED driver with multiple functions in a single package. It supports the features of advanced LED current regulation, closed loop LED current regulation, and current selectable from 10mA to 120mA in stepwise. This evaluation board is ideal for LED applications like LED-backlight lighting designs, LED lighting, and ID backlighting.The evaluation board, ADP1649CB-EVALZ, is based on analog power IC ADP1649CB. It is designed to accept a wide range of input voltage for operating down to 0.7V, up to 1.4V. The open-drain output stage is suitable for driving LEDs in series with up to 20mA or up to 12V. The adjustable current limit function provides the output with flexibility to drive different numbers of LEDs.The evaluation board works in different applications based on its design features. When the chip is operated as a DC-DC step-up converter, its open-drain output stage can provide high voltage for LEDs up to about 12V. The adjustable output current can regulates the current levels for different number of LEDs in this mode. Another application, when the chip is operated as a boost converter, its adjustable peak current mode offers an effective way of setting the desired current level for operating LEDs without having to use external resistors. In addition to simple step-up and boost converter applications, the evaluation board also offers various advanced features such as adaptive dimming, independent dimming control, and constant power mode. A wide range of dimming control can be implemented using the adaptive dimming feature by performing current measurements to control the number of LEDs. Additionally, the independent dimming control feature allows the current to be regulated based on the number of LEDs in each string. The constant power mode guarantees that the capacitor used in the dimming function must have each capacitor\'s capacity corresponding to its parallel channel.In conclusion, ADP1649CB-EVALZ is a user-friendly evaluation board for LED drivers.
